A member of a wealthy, free Black relatives, Galen Vachon has a whole lot to shed when he decides to be a member of the Underground railroad community, and be a part of the hassle to free enslaved Southerners. His risky lifestyle catches up with him when, attacked and hurt, He's compelled to seek sanctuary inside the basement of a stranger.
